Saturday snippets 17th December 2016

{reading} The Dry, which I’ll be reviewing in January. Well, I’ll probably review it tomorrow actually, but I’ll be publishing the review as part of a blog tour in January 🙂 Quite impressed with myself – started it yesterday on the train beach from London, and have devoured it in a couple of extra sessions today. Ages since I’ve read something so quickly.

{drawing} daily, even if I don’t always take pictures. At the moment I’m exploring watercolour crayons, discovering they’re a lot more versatile than I’d realised. My theme for Draw Every Day Draw Every Way is illo advent – I’m using the free month at the back of the book 🙂

{walking} to the beach in the fog, and playing with photographs of the lights. Couldn’t quite get the effect I wanted – think fading light and soggy air defeated me.

{eating} all the carbs. But somehow resisting chocolate which is a step forward. I don’t know whether it was the naproxen, or the fact I barely moved for a week, but my weight shot up to the extent I could barely fasten my jeans. Weird. Hoping that moving more and eating a little less will fix it, especially as I’ve stopped naproxen. (We won’t go into further details of that one. You don’t need to know.)

{contemplating} self sabotage. Lots more about that in the archives.

{discovering} that Small is now taller than Big. Who immediately went and put her 4 inch platform heels on, and is apparently never taking them off.

Not really sure that’s going to work for her tbh.

Big is nearly finished term, and is working lots this weekend, so that she can have plenty of downtime over the holidays. Small had his second fencing club social at a Japanese noodle bar, and has finished term for computer club, which is a bit of a relief. Smallest has discovered YouTube. I’m not sure I’m entirely happy with this. Tigerboy met the snowman 🙂

  1. Sounds like Small is having a great time with his clubs and socials. Aww bless, imagine meeting The Snowman. Good luck with Smallest with the rabbit hole that is you tube. Love that Christmas tree x

    1. Ah, thank you Susan. His little face was a complete picture – funny given how he’d blanked poor Andy!
