Emotions.

It’s been a day of high emotions for no particular reason here. Small has had several moments of unhappiness – grazed fingers when he was helping with the washing, and then a variety of disappointments over the difficulties with the computer. He did cheer up when he spent some time reviewing the new Iron Man 3 toy we were sent (do pop over and check out his writing, I think he’s fab!) and of course, Thursday is pizza night, so the day ended well.

For myself, I’ve been struggling with equilibrium. Yesterday was very stressful with the car breakdown, then I had unexpected excellent news when I got in (yes, I know I’m teasing) and then today has been one of those fiddly bits of not quite getting everything done days.

So I was all ready to blog tonight about feeling sad.

And then I saw someone tweeting about the new Tots rankings.

I can’t finish the day feeling sad when I’m ranked no 4. No 4 out of over 5000 parenting blogs in the UK. I have absolutely no idea how I’ve achieved that. I’m utterly utterly thrilled that I’m going to celebrate my blogaversary with that rank in my sidebar – I’ve got a few goodies lined up for you all to celebrate with me.

10 years of blogging. That’s not a bad innings. The blog has seen an awful lot of changes. When I started it I had one child, though I was heavily pregnant with no 2. I’ve been made redundant, found new jobs, changed career. We’ve home educated, used montessori school, and returned to home education. I’ve had three miscarriages, lost a sister. (There’s a bizarre phrase. It sounds dreadfully careless. Not quite sure how else to put it though.) And then we’ve moved across the country, had two more children, completely changed our lifestyle and we’re launching a business that has grown out of the blog.

It’s been a fun ten years so far. Here’s hoping you’ll all sign up for the next ten ๐Ÿ˜‰
