Ben 10: Alien Swarm – review

Small is a big Ben 10 fan, as is obvious to anyone who knows him. He can discourse knowledgeably on the different sets of aliens in the different series and explain what each one of them does. He has several omnitrixes (what is the plural of that anyway?) and many alien toys.

With this in mind, when we were offered the chance to review the new Ben 10: Alien Swarm movie, I leapt at the chance ๐Ÿ™‚ He’s known about the film for a while as it came out in the states last year, but on Cartoon Network, so not something he had access to.

(As an aside, when are companies going to recognise the way that the internet has shrunk the world for our children? Small doesn’t understand why some things are available in the US and not here, and to a large extent I’m with him.)

Anyway, we watched the film. Small loved it. I suspect any or all Ben 10 fans will feel much the same. He’s a bit undiscriminating tbh. But I was rather surprised that Big loved it too. Could be that there are a couple of good female characters? I sat there wondering what it was all about, and made the mistake of asking – shan’t do that again!

There’s a full review over at Movie Gazette, and there’s a competition to win your own copy too ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Hadn’t heard of this one before now, will have to give it a watch with my boys. We are all getting tired of Zoids atm..

    1. Small adores Ben 10. It comes in several different variations, cartoon and real life action – in the original cartoons the hero is only 10, which makes him pretty approachable for my two. It seems mostly harmless to me.

  2. Dd loves Ben 10, classic (she’s sat and watched the entire box set), Alien Force and now Ultimate Alien, but she declared this particular movie to be rubbish and not worth watching a second time.
