The smaller children have discovered animal crossing and the Wii. I’m sure they are getting a lot out of this. Particularly in that they play with Small, which is lovely to see.
However, the weather is improving, and they all love being outdoors. None of us are good with long dark days, and the return of brighter days is doing good things for us all. (Except for in the mornings. Bright cheerful 3 year old early in the morning “It’s morning time! Wake up Mummy!”) Today I tempted them from the consoles with the help of their very own Nowhere Box.
Yes, one large cardboard box and a sunny garden. Well, OK, two large cardboard boxes when we had a sharing failure. (Gotta love 3 year olds. Repeat after me. 3 year olds are lovable. Loud, but lovable.)
They drew buttons in their boxes, climbed in and time travelled. Our garden was a swamp, dinosaurs ruled. Noisily 😉 There was running, bouncing, playing and it was good.
During dinner, we were talking about the day. Smallest told Tim quite calmly that the boxes didn’t work, so they had to use their imagination instead, and that was OK.
Turns out you gotta love 5 year olds too. 😉
