It’s very easy to be critical of ourselves on a daily basis, and sometimes, that self-criticism can cause us to act better, avoid the same mistakes, and move forward in a healthier direction. Sometimes, however, that critic is just mean and overdramatic. After all, think about what your childhood version of you would think of you now. They would probably think you’re the coolest person in the world, even if you don’t feel like that on a daily basis.
For that reason, it’s nice to nourish our inner child from time to time. After all, we’re all just children who grew up. Sure, you might not act like a child when in public, but recapturing that sense of abandon, fun, creativity and interest can be extraordinarily healthy as an adult, if only to help dissolve some of our stress and the worries of the news cycle.

Activities You Can Share With Your Children
If you have children, then sharing your nourishing inner-child activities can be a wonderful bonding experience too. You could enjoy creative adventures like crafting, drawing, or building with blocks, or perhaps using beautiful child and adult-friendly sensory craft kits. These activities not only stimulate your child’s imagination but also encourage your own inner artist to come out and play. Engaging in storytelling sessions, where you take turns weaving tales of fantasy and adventure, can be an incredibly fun and educational bonding experience on top of that. In other words, make use of play, because ironically enough, it can be incredibly productive.
Rediscover A Sense Of Adventure
Adventure can be found in many places. You don’t necessarily have to travel far and wide for it. Perhaps you can just read or even write an unapologetic book that deals with adventure, discovering the world, and good vs evil forces (without the constant ultra-realistic shades of grey that we’ve all come to expect from fiction). Of course, adventure can also come from heading to the coastal water park with friends, or booking a weekend getaway. Whatever helps you feel that sense of wonder is absolutely worth it.
Become A Real Novice
It’s good to become a real novice in something from time to time, because when we’re children ,we tend to be novices in everything. Perhaps just learning to draw or play an instrument for the first time can help you feel that sense of beginner’s potential, as can enjoying a new sport or heading to try a new craft. In other words, enjoy being a novice in life, because it’s healthy and helpful to do so. It will help you avoid feeling like you have to be responsible all the time, instead opening your mind to wonderful and ever-increasing possibilities.
