Now that we’ve got the disclaimers out of the way, on to the goodies.
I put out a shout on twitter for recommendations for Etsy sellers, and was absolutely inundated with responses. I’ll try to include some more in a second post, but these are the first 10 that caught my eye, for a variety of different reasons.
And so on are based in Japan, and make glass jewellery. They’ve yet to make an etsy sale, I’d love to refer their first purchaser!
I particularly love this brightly coloured flower anklet. Lots of fun.
I was recommended Ashley Procopio silver jewellery as something with a little bit of an edge to it, and I completely see what Robin (owner of Vineyard Arts Gallery on Martha’s Vineyard) means. It’s a little different. Kind of wish I still wore earrings, these are very tempting.
But maybe jewellery isn’t your thing? Perhaps something more arty?
I adore this abstract beach scene from Grace Eve Art. It would brighten up any wall and bring the peace of the seaside into your home.
Or how about a sunflower mug? Would brighten up a cuppa no end. The products from Handdrawn world are quirky and cheerful and very individual.
Crossing the streams a little, I’ve been talking more about zero waste and plastic free, and I can think of quite a few people who might appreciate a gift along these lines. If you’re not handy with a crochet hook, you could pick up a pack of something like these face scrubbies from Cerolana zero waste shop.
Taking a swift turn into the slightly unusual, how about a handpainted slate board game? I can pretty much guarantee you aren’t going to get duplicate gifts with this one. I don’t know what this game is, but it looks fascinating. Elbri Crafts have some really interesting and different gift ideas.
Returning to flowers, and quite specifically sunflowers, how about a gift pack that also gives to charity? Many of the items from Oh How Lovely Gifts can be personalised, including this one.
And finishing up with a completely personal gift, how about a customised silhouette picture? This is really unusual and striking, well worth checking out. Debmon design does a variety of items, including custom family portraits that are absolutely wonderful.
So there’s a quick swing through Etsy to highlight some independent options for Mother’s Day and other gift opportunities. Do let me know if you grab anything from any of these sellers, and tell me what’s your favourite from this list! If I haven’t included anything you love, you can always check out the Etsy picked list
