Did you miss me? Did you?
What do you mean you didn’t even notice I was gone???
Yes, I know I continued posting, but they were little posts. And lots of them were just pictures. And kind of went on about the whole tudor re-enactment living in a field thing. It was a bit of an overwhelming experience though. And has left its mark without a doubt.
I learned so much. I’m formulating a post on it all. Or possibly more than one post. And I have a few more pictures that I didn’t get to blog, so I may do a gallery post with those. And there’s the aftermath too.
I hate the aftermath of camping. And the aftermath of camping with added tudor costume and accoutrements is even worse. Particularly when before we went camping we’d had a hectic week or more, so my plans to leave the house tidy were well and truly thwarted. Today therefore has been tough. I have done washing, and washing up, and more washing, and more washing up. I’ve encouraged maths and a slight return to routine, and Big has had a rookie lifeguard test (even though she’d missed the last two sessions) and Small has had Cubs.
There’s a tent spread out in the garden to air, sleeping bags in a heap at the foot of our bed needing a second rinse as the washing powder didn’t completely wash off and just stuff everywhere.
But I am utterly determined that this will not remain. Two weeks in a relatively uncluttered tent with next to no stuff persuaded me that we don’t need so much about. And that space, and time, and productive work are good for you. And gave me chance to think of directions for my blog and to formulate plans for earning and for fun.
I’m going to learn to felt properly. It satisfies all sorts of urges in me, and won’t, I hope, hurt my hands in quite the same way that knitting or crochet does. Frances of the wondrous felt hats has said she will teach me, and I’m going to take her up on it. It was lovely to make new friends at Kentwell and a definite bonus that this one is actually located somewhere I stand a chance of continuing to develop the friendship.
I also today managed to sort out bigger shoes for Smallest, buy bread and general lunch things, pick up my latitude tickets from the post office and answer a few emails. Oh, and spend a little time on twitter and Empire Avenue. It is just possible that I am well and truly back…

Welcome home. As I’ve already said – I loved seeing everyone of those Tudor posts.

Good to have you back. Glad you had some epiphanies too. Good for the soul I think.

Think it might partly be camping that does it to me. Or maybe it’s going to bed before midnight.
