ten to midnight

20th May 2011 by Jax Blunt 8 Comments

And no post prepared. Blogging on a phone while wrestling a wide awake baby into bed and pondering days with lots done yet still not enough.

It’s a balancing act, this life. Trying to find time and space to be all things to all people, and still a little room to be me. Sometimes I almost make it, sometimes I fail more or less spectacularly.

Today I planted beans and peas, watered plants with washing up water, returned clothes that are too big, confused children, ran, made lunch, bought tea, fed Smallest, read blogposts, twittered, answered emails, sorted clothes, donated to charity and occasionally sat. And the todo list is longer than ever.

Time to get a grip. Starting with bed before midnight, and family focus offline time. I’ll be about, but not as much. Remember me anyway?

It’s always good to take some time off and catch up with ‘real life’ as it were! It recharges the batteries and makes you glad to be back! Enjoy real life and we’ll see you soon but don’t stay away too long xx

Thanks Emma. I’ll be trying to pop in and out as and when, but I think I do need to re prioritise just a little 🙂

Sounds like one of my days – except I get a lot less done. We rush around, never seem to stop, yet still wonder what we’ve achieved.

I hate it when that happens. I’m not sure I even put everything down that happened today, but if I’d listed what I’d wanted to achieve, it would have sounded dire by comparison!

Of course we’ll remember you. I must say, I wondered how you managed to post more than one blog a day whilst still doing all the other stuff. I feel very guilty (like now) when I’m trying to be online and DD desperately wants my attention. It’s good to focus on the children without distraction so have fun and see you later – Rachel

My dear, you are unforgettable :O) It’s impossible to be all things to all people, but we try all the same! I suppose it’s only human. I hope you find more time tomorrow to just ‘sit’ and relax a bit. x
