Well, OK, so a couple of ppl asked on twitter 🙂
I’m hosting a learn to read carnival. We want your hints and tips, what worked for you, what didn’t, books you loved, systems you hated, whatever. From Jolly Phonics, to look and say to Montessori, I’m hoping it will all be covered by someone.
I’d like posts in by next Wed 27th please (use the contact form or stick me a link in the comments or email carnival AT liveotherwise.co.uk) Looking forward to hearing what you’ve all got to say 🙂
Old posts are fine. No badge required, though I can find you one if you want one. This isn’t about the links to me, this is about sharing our experiences and helping each other out!

[strokes fingers through white beard] Anyone old enough to remember Dick and Dora? Or Janet and John? They weren’t that bad. But, for nowadays, I love Sheila McCulloch’s scheme.
Jax says
@FireflyPhil Peter and Jane wasn’t it? I don’t know Sheila McCulloch, I’ll look into it.

We had a whole day of learning to read posts in Book Week. Feel free to link to them. Will try to remember to send you proper links when am on a computer.
Great idea. I think it’s something a lot of parents think hard about.
Jax says
@Tasha Thanks, I’ll have a look through and see what I can find 🙂

I don’t have a post myself as reading came easy for my older two. But it’ll make an interesting read anyway.
