Weebles Wobbly Farm Figure and Base Assortment at Argos.
This here is a Weeble. It’s a dog. It’s part of a new range of Weebledown Farm toys from Character toys, and it should have a little friend, a sheep, but he seems to have wobbled off into hiding.
Retailing at around £4.99, there’s a whole range of these animal and farm related figures, they’re nicely made, with a good chunky feel to them, and an excellent wobble rate. They don’t wobble nearly as well on their interconnecting bases, which probably explains why the bases haven’t been seen around here for a few days 😉
In themselves, the figures aren’t *that* interesting. But given that the range includes vehicles (Tractor!) and a farm, there’s plenty of extension value. And I think weebles, for some reason, are something that children remember – as I mentioned when I reviewed a Peppa Pig wobbly car (also from character, and currently reduced at Argos) a little while back, I can still recite the advert – Weebles wobble but they don’t fall down!
(I haven’t seen any advertising for the Weebledown Farm range, please tell me they’re still using that slogan?
Anyway, my opinion on these is that they’re good value toys, which I suspect will last well and stand up to extensive bashing about. Not that I’ve seen Tigerboy experimenting with the bashing, no, not at all :/ But after all, you do have to see whether you can make them fall down, don’t you? And spin. Weebles do tend to spin well. For a new generation of children, it’s good to see that Weebles are making a come back, and doing it in style. Farms are always a hit with younger ones, so I suspect that Character have a real winner on their hands with the Weebledown Farm range, and I’ll certainly be looking into picking up another couple of pieces. After all, a child can never have too many tractors 😉
