You may remember earlier in the year when I reviewed the rather wonderful Lostmy.name book, just about the time it was featured on Dragon’s Den.
If not, I’ll recap briefly for you here.
You order the book via the website, in a very simple process, where you put in the name of the lucky child it’s for. The story is built up from the child’s name – there are various rules that govern what happens for repeated letters and so on. The version we got was a good hefty book. There is a minimum length – so if your child has a very short name, they’ll get some extra story pages, to pad it out a bit. And you can try all of it out online at the Lost My Name website, where you get to see the story, and how it works. That won’t give the feeling of the really luxurious paper, or an idea of the finish, but at least you get to see the imagery.
I have to say that it’s the quality of the finish, as well as the story itself, that really won me over. This is a keepsake of a book, one that will be valued for years, and I’m thrilled to be hosting a giveaway.
It’s really easy entry via the gleam widget that is hopefully right below here. (If for some reason it’s not playing for you, do catch me on twitter @liveotherwise to let me know, or drop me a note through the contact form. Don’t panic if your comment isn’t showing up immediately though – that’s just part of my spam defences.)
So, not much more to say than good luck, and do spread the word. The more entries a competition gets, the more likely companies are to offer competitions in future. (Note this is an international giveaway, as lostmy.name book deliver internationally.)
