My read 52 posts have been few and far between. This week I seem to have failed to read – I started The City’s Son over a week ago, and despite loving it every time I manage a few pages, a few pages each time is all I seem to manage
But I don’t want to let another week slip by without adding to your reading lists. So I’m going to enthuse about my friend Rachael and her wonderful book, Sealed with a Kiss.
I’ve known Rachael for a very long time. Possibly longer than this blog has been kicking around – we met on an email group years and years and years ago. We’ve bumped along in and out of touch, and then finally met in person at the first Cybermummy which scarily was 4 years ago. I’ve always been a fan of her blog, and her photography, and I was thrilled to read Sealed with a Kiss when she self published it a while back.
Watching the roller coaster since then has been fantastic. Going to the PanMac party where she was wearing an author’s flower. (What was that thing?) Seeing her book mocked up. Reading the news articles, sharing the updates, being a part of her cheering crew.
I am a Rachael Lucas fan, and I’m not afraid to admit it. Sealed with a Kiss is a wonderful read, romantic and funny and charming and emotional, and I absolutely think that you should go out and grab it.
If your local bookshop doesn’t have it, ask them why not. She managed to get Amazon to sell out, but they’ve got copies again now, or you can order it to your independent bookshop via Hive. And of course it’s available for download, and if you read it before, it’s got new stuff in it now!
