We’ve had it all here today. And I am pleased that I took advantage of the sun and dried washing on the line and took small children out in the garden. They played and I absorbed warmth and we all took pictures.
That was after
That’s Tigerboy matching cards. Big sat with him for ages matching them. He can’t distinguish between the different Mr Tumble signs, but he can find and match other pictures. And he has a phenomenal attention span.
The afternoon vanished in a haze of tidying and sorting and showers. I got very seriously rained on while taking the charity shop bags into town, and then was quite annoyed that the oxfam shop was closed so I couldn’t donate my bag of packaging and had to bring it home again.
Home in time to make tea before a hectic evening of chauffeuring. Tim had a meeting which meant I had to drop Small at cubs, then rush Big off to her new swim practice 16 miles up the road, race back to pick up Small, squeeze in eating then rush off to pick up Big again. Tim arrived on the doorstep just as we were leaving so I threw children at him and ran off, arriving late because no one had told me they were supposed to be out in 5 minutes from this practise.
Oops. I’ll know for next time which won’t be next week because next week is Michaelmas, last tudor reenactment of the season. Tim and Big are doing it, so I’ll be home for 5 days with no backup and no car.
The thing that bothers me most is I won’t be able to run. I like running.
Still, should get lots of other bits done.
Look for the silver lining. Or the rainbow.
