Introducing Living Social UK with promocode.

As has probably not escaped your notice, there are a few affiliate style adverts creeping into my sidebar. For a very long time I avoided advertising on this blog, as I didn’t like it. However, that was back in the days when I had a job, and fewer children ;)

Now, it’s every hand on deck to make ends meet, and that includes this blog. It’s 10 years old now, it needs to pull its weight after all! Seriously though, I spend a lot of time here, and it would be really lovely if I could make that pay back a little, so I’m exploring all avenues. One thing I’ll be doing is looking at a variety of affiliate arrangements, and today I’d like to introduce you to my newest blog partner, Living Social UK.

Living Social is a daily deals site – I’m sure you’ve come across the type of thing before. I’ve just been having a browse and have been pretty impressed by the sort of thing on offer, and even more so by the fact that there’s a promocode available until end of tomorrow that gets you 20% of any eligible purchase up to a total of £20 off – HOTUK20.

So that would make this turtle night light on Living Social just um, £9.60? (done in my head. apologies if that’s not correct.) Will have to check out the HOTUK20 terms and conditions

Or perhaps you’d prefer a silicon bib? I love these. We’ve got a plain one, and it saves massively on washing, as it’s just a case of wiping it out after the meal. These are a bit funkier though, which might make them even more wearable :)

Final deal of the day that’s standing out to me is this excellent photo to canvas print offer. £7 for a 16in print, which sounds pretty good to me. I’m certainly going to be trying out a couple of these deals with the code I mentioned (you’ve remembered that, HOTUK20 for up to £20 off?) which will mean I can report back in a few weeks on how the whole buying experience worked for me. If you go ahead and grab anything, please do pop back and let me know.

I want to make affiliate partnerships work for me, but that will only happen if they work for you. What do you think, is this a way forward for blog monetisation, or just the type of post you’re going to skip over? Really interested in your opinions, in the usual place please.

Disclosure, just in case it’s not absolutely obvious – links in this post to LivingSocial – UK are affiliate links. It doesn’t cost you any more to use them, but I earn a bit if you purchase via them.

  1. I always mean to use affiliate links on blogs but when it comes to me actually buying something I always forget or forget whos blog has the right affiliate so just buy through the shop as standard. I’m probably the minority though. I really hope they work for you!
