We’re back from our annual reenactment jaunt with some catching up to do. Tigerboy has been very happy with two fabulous board books from random house, Baby it’s you, and Baby Let’s play. These are aimed at 0-6 and 6-12 months respectively and have lots of suggestions on how to use them with your baby. Being that little bit older Tigerboy is happy to explore them with me so I’d say there’s plenty of mileage outside the targeted age groups too.
Smallest has been happy with a couple of new picture books, Monster zoo, and You’re a rude pig Bertie. Of the two I prefer the zoo book for its rather fun rhyming, although I think Smallest rather liked the animals in Bertie’s story.
Edited to add – given that every night since she’s requested Monster Zoo, and she spends time commenting on the pictures, I think that’s a definite keeper. She’s picking up on lots of details – ticklish little monsters and sad expressions (even tears). I love books that grow with every reading, and this one is doing exactly that.
And me? I’m reading the 10pm question. Review to follow when I finish it.
If you’d like to buy any of the mentioned books and you don’t have a friendly local independent bookshop, I recommend exploring Hive via my affiliate link, you get to buy online but support independent bookshops. Best of both worlds eh? And don’t forget to enter my After Iris giveaway (see sidebar).

The background: I’ve challenged Big to read 52 books this year. She will probably be mentioning them over here on her blog. I’m also going to have a crack at reading at least 52 books myself, and more importantly, I’m going to keep track of what books I’m reading to the little ones. I’m going to do all of that in a weekly post, and I’ve also set up a google plus community which you’re very welcome to join. (If you need an invitation, leave me a comment using relevant email address – which will stay hidden.)
