The bm thing is probably just personal preference. Or maybe some people get more out of it if they feel like they’re not getting anything in return (except possibly a feeling of self-sacrificing superiority!). Not me – I signed up

Well, i can sympathise with that. I feel really guilty if i sell things to friends, even if i give them a discount. Which is ridiculous really!

Agreed on the spammy stuff, but this particular site does seem to work pretty well, not that I’ve been paid yet. Did like the lovefilm offer – £18 for signing up for a free trial, which you can cancel before payment is due

It’s entirely probable that my commenter didn’t mean it as criticism, but I read it that way. Perhaps the problem is only in my head, that I feel I’m doing something wrong?

I didn’t actually see that link of yours; fb isn’t showing me huge swathes of stuff at the moment though. I probably wouldn’t have signed up, because i get wearied with the spammy stuff i’ve had from freefivers and so on – i never get time to do all the stuff they want from you for almost no return.

I wonder if your commenter was actually expressing a concern that the money wouldn’t get to the right people rather than a concern about you getting the money too? maybe they just meant they were happy donating bm because it could only be used one way, not that they’d rather not give money because you were getting some.
