Last time I had money to spend on books, I spent it on the children, suppose I could do that again. Doesn’t appeal though, I want books for me! I’ve got back into reading with having the library just down the road, and I want things that I can cherish.
If you had £11 to spend on Amazon, what would you spend it on? Show me your wishlists, inspire me! 
From that list I’d go for the children’s year – we have food, festivals and family in the same series and I use it lots
In my ‘save for later’ basket I have an Eric Carle advent calendar and “The Perfect Puppy” (as in how to achieve one). Recently I have bought lots of Beast Quest books (for E) and an alarm clock (for V). Helpful?

Alison recently lent me a book called “Can Any Mother Help Me?” about a group of women who sent a fortnightly articles magazine they wrote themselves around a group of like-minded women from the 20/30s to the 80′s/90′s. It was kind of early 20th century blogging and i found it absolutely fascinating and incredibly moving.

I’m so behind on my blog reading – just seen this post. What did you end up buying? I have both the top two books you mentioned and like them both but if you’re looking for something to be more in touch with the seasons then All Year Round from the same series as The Childrens Year is definitely the one to go for if you haven’t already got it.
I loved the Friday night knitting club one and cried too!
In the end I bought Dragonhaven and The Lion Tamer’s Daughter by one of my favourite writers, Robin McKinley, and her husband
