We had a full timetable of events this weekend, it’s my sister’s birthday tomorrow, so yesterday we all met up for a family meal at a curry house in Bil’s village. It was quite a subdued event, I think it was our first normal event without Katrin iyswim, and I can’t have been the only one feeling her absence. No one mentioned her (that I heard anyway) and no one took any pictures which is also unusual, given that J and her hubby make their living as photographers, they are usually well equipped with big cameras. Nevertheless it was a pleasant meal, if you discount Big whinging throughout as she was bored, she wants me to remind her to bring a book in future! Small on the other hand had a lovely evening visiting another planet with Princess, they really are very similar. Princess has returned from her holiday in America with a zebra called Zebra, matches nicely with his frog, called, you’ve guessed it, Frog.
Before the meal we went to Bil’s so that Tim could argue with his computer, and before that we went into town as a family, visiting the library (soon to shut so that it can reopen in its newly refurbished old building just down the road from us), getting a present for the party they attended today, picking up Tim’s fixed camera, and eating sausage rolls on the canalside in the sun. I also did some winter shopping for Big, buying her a selection of long sleeved tops from Tesco, after Peacocks let me down, having only short sleeved tops, although we did manage to get her a couple of pairs of trousers.
So that was Saturday in reverse order, can’t think of anything else I missed there. Today the children had a party to go to at Ponderosa which was very nice in the warm sun – we got to stroke and feed a variety of animals, and the children had pony rides, before a party meal in a hut, followed by party games. One of the other parents remarked that it was a bit of a busman’s holiday for me, not true actually, as no Montessori group of children ever makes that kind of noise inside – my head was bouncing after 90 minutes of 20 children running, climbing and screaming
Then we came home and the children stared at the small square box downstairs while I went upstairs and stared at the one with my assignment on – I’ve finished the language arts and culture and science questions now, I’ve only got Theory and Enrichment part 2 to do, so I should get that in the email (as opposed to in the post) by Weds/ Thurs hopefully. Although this week is going to be tough – Tim is popping down to see family and I’m giving training on Tues night and attending it on Thursday night, as well as having a meeting at school on Saturday. I’ve got a month of this coming up – I’m going to be shattered by the end of it. Ah well.
Right, time to go raid the fridge and bodge a meal together. I may be back with a book review later.

I kitted DD out with long-sleeved tops, in Matalan. They’re quite good for them, she’s set for the winter, now.
