or here again, more accurately, as we have been away. We popped down to see Tim’s family and stopped several days, much to Small’s disgust as we arrived (but I don’t want to stay 4 days!) and departed (but you said 4 days and it hasn’t been 2 days yet! 
) I managed a couple of visits to charity shops and second hand bookstores, with a creditable haul for under £10 – The Borribles Trilogy
(I’ve only read the first one, remember it from years ago, really looking forward to rereading and then continuing on), Ordinary Jack (Puffin Books)
and Absolute Zero – The Bagthorpes 2 (Bagthorpes)
for Big to go with her Easter egg (she’s started the first one and is thoroughly enjoying it, thanks to whoever recommended it – Helen and/ or Jan?), Elementals: Water
(Robin McKinley – went into Borders today and was faintly disgusted that they have shelves and shelves of Anne McCaffrey and now Todd McCaffrey writing instead of her (couldn’t be much worse I suppose) but not a single Robin McKinley. Ought to complain 
), and The Spirit Ring
(Lois McMaster Bujold, another must buy author) as well as some chick lit in the form of Colleen McCullough, can’t remember the title. Small’s Easter egg was accompanied by some metallic crayons, black paper and a marvel heroes pencil set – he was absolutely thrilled, particularly by the Mr Fantastic rubber.
Other than that, we had a quiet few days – lots of very good food and drink and good company, and very little internet (hence the lack of blogging 
)
Back on Tuesday, and yesterday we picked up keys for the house in Brighouse. Today I figured out the central heating, so over the weekend we’ll be looking to move enough of us and our stuff up to make it possible to work from there next week. I’ve no idea how we’re going to do that, and am too tired to figure it out tonight. Get back to you on that one.
And as I’m very tired, I think I’ll go to bed.

i certainly have recommended bagthorpes as i have laughed till i cried about strings on bows, competitions, painting the room sludge, and the various unbelievable characters. brill
oh, and measuring life expectancy by leg length [btw, i must have been 14 i last read these as they were my sisters, so they are that good i have remembered over 25 years!]
and on a totally unrelated subject… I am rather embarrassed to say taht duke found your sewing machine in our garage so obviously I was halucinating when i remembered very clearly giving a large sewing machine-like object to Tim at the Bean’s Castle party last year! What would you like me to do with it?
Urgh, would have helped this weekend if i could but it’s kids away and stock taking. Sorry
