The phone just rang. It’s quarter past 5 on a sunday evening, remember.

Tim handed it over, “it’s someone from sky.”

So the guy muttered at me down the phone about the call being recorded and all that, and then:

Him: “Can you just confirm your first initial?”
Me: “J”
Him: “And your address?”
Me: “No. I’m not confirming anything over the phone what with cds of data flying around the country and all.”
Him: “What can I do to persuade you that I’m calling from sky?”
Me: “Well, I’m not really interested either way, so how about we cut this call short now?”
Him: “But I want to sell you something.”
Me: “I’m not buying.”
Him: “Please?” (really, he said please.)
Me: “No.”
Him: “Oh. Goodbye then.”

Quite pleased with how I handled that one actually.
