Yes I have to put myself on a total sugar-ban to cure cravings when they're bad. Oatcakes are great for nibbling on and levelling out blood sugar, if you can stand them.

And I'm such a dinosaur re: household accounts! Can't beat pen and paper

We used to be very good (for some years) at using Quicken, but then you stop for a bit and get behind, and then never quiet get back into it. Need to start again with a clean sheet methinks.

Our's is not the osrt of road to play out on anyway, I imagine SB will be able to go to the nearby playground herself when a bit older (8?) if she wants.

Work through th cravings, giving in to chocolate cravings doesn't seem to actually satisfy the cravings AFAICS, rather the opposite it seems, it just seems to leave you wanting more (I'm assuming we are talking sickly sweet milk chocolate type things here, a decent bit of proper chocolate is another thing altogether)

I've been using https://www.clearcheckbook.com/ recently. It's mainly an account balancing thing (you can have as many accounts as you like - I'm up to 7 or 8 I think), but you can set budgets and spending limits on accounts and categories. It's not for planning budgets for the future, but I'm finding it does pretty much exactly what I want - which may not be the same as what you want ;-)

I let (send ;-) ) my kids out to play - this summer has been the first that all 4 have been to the park together but without me - and there are usually others, out of school hours. Of course, the park they usually go to is closed atm because of some oil leak from the railway it's next to :( Violet & Gwenny are suddenly going all over the place by themselves, which is great :)
