This came up once when I was talking to AA Insurance, there are some insurance companies they don't quote from, precisely because they are bad dealing with claims.

When I have had claims or any problem they have been great.

I was pretty narked when the AA became part of Centrica, because I couldn't see how this was going to improve a service I have always been very happy with (I have used them for the last 12 years). Can't judge if there has been any change now it is owned by CVC and Permira.

argh, hate big compnaies who just assume that you will automatically renew without checking first. Also hate companies who offer real good deals to reel you in then drop all the sweetners when you come to renew.

Lining the pockets of the evil private equity scum ;-)

I think the proof of the pudding with insurance companies is not how easy purchasing the policy was, or how cheap it was, or the renewal process, it is what happens when you claim. And that is really hard to judget until it happens.
