		<description>Hmm, you know, that sounds SO Monetssori my dear.... it's obviously rubbing off ;-)  Multi age classes, child led learning... yup, if the LEA provided something like that I'd enroll Aprilia tomorrow and get a job (but in teh mean time I'll have much more fun playing with her at home)</description>

		<description>The education system was never intended to actually teach people- It is for the convenience of looking after the children while the parents go to work for the maximum hours possible, for maximum produtivity and maximum profits. And we can't have children working down t'pit or in t'mill anymore and it has to sound like it's for their benefit.
Yes they are afraid of changing the status quo. Maybe they can't see the wood for the trees. They can see little bits of what's going wrong, so try to add-on 'fixes' instead of adressing the whole problem. There's no way thay can admit that the system is essentially flawed.</description>

		<description>No. I think those with the power to make these decisions &lt;b&gt;do&lt;/b&gt; want to keep people down. Their power relies on keeping people "in their place". They are afraid of the people they govern - so they bully, and call it "their duty as elected representation".
