Her other choices were for Classics, this way she gets to study the kind of stuff she is interested in, and comes out of it with a degree and a craft.

I was being polite C - in fact I deleted the bit of my comment that said “apart from take drugs and shag boys” because I thought it wasn’t the sort of thing fathers needed to be reminded of! (And anyway she might like girls, who knows?)

C tries at work, but he’s too old for such tiring pursuits really ….

Oh, and that degree sounds really interesting - bet you end up with a pretty good general knowledge from it too, loads of science and history etc.

She is doing a degree in Art Restoration and Conservation (plus what Chris said, I expect).

Funnily enough, no, I haven’t looked at the price of garage racking in Homebase. Frankly, I have never had the urge.

I might have, IF we could get into our garage to put some up, but our garage is so full of stuff, there is no way to get in there to put up some racking to put the stuff on, IYSWIM.

Nor do I have a full opinion on whether Homebase is more or less overpriced than IKEA. But I am inclined to think that you are right.

PS: When I were a lad you could go out for the evening with a five pound note, get drunk, smoke a packet of 20 No 6, get fish and chips while you were staggering home and still wake up with change in your pocket.
