Was Big trying to help it grow to be a tri-band phone or even a satellite phone? Sorry to hear about the phone hassles though. I hope you didn't have too much stuff stored on it that wasn't backed up somewhere else - do you have one of those SIM back up things?

You take the phone apart and leave it to dry thoroughly - could take a week or more. Then put it back together; it will usually work; if not, it's stuffed.

You can get contracts with cashback which essentially mean your phone and your entire contract are free; I've done this for about three years now, getting a new phone each year :-)

Lin - my blogring code is fine and yours looks fine now.

Yes, but I bought a phone which has email, with the intention of using it. Virgin advertised that the phone had email, but neglected to point out that it won't work on their network.

The helpdesk were a bunch of useless twonks, but that is fairly standard. At least the queues were shorter than Vodafone.

Hi Jax, are you redesigning the ring badge or something? Mine has gone (and other peoples seem to have done too).

If its just a glitch in my page-veiwing thingy, please ignore me ;-)

I think you are probably right, I hate dealing through third parties, I bought phones through Carphonewarehouse a couple of times, and while they were helpful, if I had a problem I never new whether to call them or the network - mostly it seemed I would end up in Vodafone's call queue. :-(

Also, buying direct on the tariff you mentioned I would have a much better choice of handset.

What are the Link like with their redemption discounts? They often seem to appear more hassle than they are worth given the trouble they put you to reclaim the money you have already paid out on the #30gbp a month.

I have tended to use O2 direct (online) as like you I would never use 250 mins a month. I think direct they do a 19 a month tarrif that gives something like 100 mins and 50 texts plus free phone.

I have thought of taking a hairdryer to it, but I have had a look on a couple of fora and I suspect that it will take a bit more than that.
