Beards are laziness

moustaches are vanity.

Says Tim. (He’s now going on about it. As he does ;) )

nick stokes moustache boy This was sparked by my rant about one of the characters on CSI suddenly appearing with a moustache. My theory was that he was trying to look older. All it does for me is make it look like he’s trying to look older. Not attractive.

Any thoughts from the audience?

Have to say that when we saw the character had grown a tache, we both wet ourselves laughing! What a plonker he looks.

I don’t like any facial hair at all but can I get OH to shave on a regular basis? Can I heck as like. He claims that wet shaving cuts his face to shreds (he uses the next best thing to a cut throat). And indeed it does shred his skin, don’t know what he does when he shaves but he certainly ends up in a blood bath.

    I like Ron’s beard/mustace combo. :D

can’t see your link, but knew who you meant - and yes, totally hideous on him. mind you, I met chris when he was bearded, and he stayed that way many years - and periodically his stubble is more beard. I like beards/tache combo as long as nature intended shape [can't bear wierd wisps and lines]

Don’t watch CSI and couldn’t follow the link. A has sported a beard and tache at times through to completely clean shaven but given he would almost have to shave twice a day to keep up the baby soft skin look I am most used to a touch of stubble. I was thinking the other day what a bind daily shaving must be and how I very probably wouldn’t bother if I was a bloke!

I don’t really like a moustache on it’s own but I can only think of one person I know who’s ever sported one for long. I quite like a bit of stubble and on the right person a full face of hair can be quite nice.

how weird, the link does seem to have broken. Found it through google and as it’s on a blogger page, perhaps it only displays that way :(

will go find image and fix.

I agree beards are laziness. Well they are in my husband’s case! I just made Steve shave his off. Well, no, I mean I asked him nicely ;) Back to a goatee now, which I like - where does that come in Tim’s theories on facial hair?

Steve was aspiring to a Jonathan, I think, but decided that he’s probably in the wrong job for it (is there such a thing as the right job for a beard?!) …

hmm, can you tell we’re in a post-festival haze here?!

    vanity, he says.

beards - absent minded professors, mad scientists, weird geeks ;)

I think copious hair and beard plus interesting clothes suit Jonathan very well for his natural habitat.

It’s interesting that some moustaches seem to work and others don’t. Tom Selleck as Magnum? (Thumbs up from me, probably, but then that’s more a question for the ladies.) Nigel Mansell? (Thumbs down from me.)

I agree: Grissom’s beard looks good.

Sort of geek camouflage, you mean?

Actually, they giggle hysterically when I shave mine off. To a degree, I think you have to have a face that can carry one off.
