Making it up

As you may be aware, it was Small’s birthday on monday. As is traditional, he received a number of presents, including some money from his Grandfather, along with a note instructing that it be spent on him, on his birthday. So that meant that on Bank Holiday Monday, we headed out to find a toyshop, so that we could do just that.

Well, Small is a fairly unusual three year old in my admittedly limited experience. We took him to two different toyshops, and he showed little interest in anything much - a Scooby doo toy in one, that he put back when we headed to pay for it :rolls: and then a larger Scooby doo in the second one that I refused to put back after he cried all over it when I declined to buy him a large fake foam England wig. (I know, I know, I’m horrid). Oh, and he bought a little chimpanzee.

Which meant that he hadn’t really aquired very much. Good in some ways, but not quite what Grandfather had in mind I suspect, as the idea is for them to enjoy the money rather than it just sitting in the back. Today I went into town to post Ebay items, and I had some idea that I would pick up some dressing up costumes for Small if possible, so that’s what I did, courtesy of Woolies 3 for 2. I also grabbed Big a 1/2 price party dress (pink sequinned organza, how could I resist???) as well as really pushing the boat out with the purchase of a new laundry basket out of my own money (all 1.49 of it :grin:)
