Oops, nearly forgot

Given that I’m already getting hits for Hesfes 2006, thought I’d better point out that the information is out there, the website is updated and the mystery of the new location has finally been revealed.

Surprised to discover that I’m slightly disappointed that we won’t be making it this year, I’ve definitely got a bit of a love hate thing going on there. But working limits holidays, and Hesfes isn’t as important as some of my other plans.

Let me know how it goes, won’t you :)

I’m disappointed that we won’t make it either - the new site looks great, I think.

We knew, when we spent the (just-about-affordable) money to go last year, that it was likely a one-shot thing for us. Which is part of why I was so disappointed/frustrated/angry/whatever when it turned out to be so - well, so completely different from how the organisers had described it. Let me rephrase that: they lied. Over and over. And so this year, even if we could afford it, even if it wasn’t even *further* away than before, even if the new dates didn’t make it doubly expensive - I still don’t think we’d be considering it.

We’d not be going anyway. TBH, at the moment no great desire to go either really. As for the site, well Sarah you obviosukly ahev a different defintion of ‘great’ to me. I was more of the ‘ still pretty terrible, but better than before’

I meant the campsite, which I do think looks relatively great compared to Charmouth.

The website is clearly still as terrible as ever ;)

Having promised mine for the past three years we would go and then failing, them they are relying on me this forth year to go! It will be nearly £200 and I don’t think I know anyone else going. AAARRRGGHH!!!

I can’t decide. It feels like too far, somehow. Depends when MP camp is, I guess, and who is going to what. It’ll def only be one or the other this year though, as I can’t go taking two separate weeks off work, and then a three week summer holiday, all within a matter of weeks.

We’re not going this year either. I’m not sure how I feel about that yet, but it will be weird as we’ve been for 5 years running.

Actually, just realised, haven’t had anything from HESchat for ages. I thought there would have been *something* when the top secret new location was announced.

we’re a ‘no’ here too I think. The logistics of it with a 3 year old (and not just any 3 yo either - my particular 3yo) are just too nightmare inducing. Cost would be a massive issue anyway - but we will go again one day. Maybe. Perhaps!

I signed off Heschat last year, couldn’t cope with the mithering on. I have had a hesnews digest with the announcement in it, but I first picked up the news on UKHE.

Got to say that they are not exactly setting new records for communication, but daresay that won’t surprise anyone ;)

It seems a lot more expensive this year as well, I thought.

Have done HESFES once but wouldn’t really want to do it again until maybe Becca is (much) bigger and able to go off on her own whilst I catch up on all the sleep I didn’t get during the night…..

Merry, I have to go to a wedding on the 25th of June so if that’s the start date can someone pick me a nice pitch to stagger onto next day????

I wasnt going to say anything about the website because I wasnt sure if Jax was hosting it…something about the way you wrote the post Jax.

I clicked through just to find out what HESFES might be [damned acronyms!] and was a little shocked at the, ahem, design and implementation. You say this is better than last years? Woah. Must have been bad.

Up about a hundred quid if the six of us went - was £157 last year I think (including hook-up), and would be £262 this year - blimey! Would have to leave C at home at least ;-) That does include one child going up from cheap kid to dear kid and one child going from free to cheap kid though. But it’s a lot, and I think we would rather spend the money doing something else.

Nope, not my site. Last year he had broken images all over the place, which I attempted to assist him with, but given that he could see them (well he would, the links were pointed to the images on his own machine) he denied that there was anything wrong with it, and was all round rude.

Guessing you won’t let me on camp committee Merry, given my resolution to say no ;) but willing to help in any way I can fit in as usual.

We have been for quite a few years but my children aren’t really into it. I have a love/hate thing with it too. The eldest actually went to bed early last year while I was still up, something they never do at home. I plan on spending the money on a family holiday at Centerparcs instead, though I might also do the EO Leics camp and the Cumbria (family orientated) one I might try. Am looking for info on Mudpud camp but I have four children of different ages so might mean the older two wouldn’t fit in and then it’d be hell for me!!!
