apologies to anyone

who came round to the party and has been infected with the lurgy. Both Small and myself are suffering - stinking cold, headache, blocked up nose the lot.

That said, it was a wonderful day yesterday. Jan and Jonathan, Sarah and Roo, and Barbara and Chris all joined us with their respective children, and in Barbara’s case, bump ;-) and Small had a whale of a time. He loves attention, and he got plenty of it, and he’s got the hang of presents now as well, so that was good too.

Mainly the older children played well together - problems generally centred around dd unfortunately though. Which meant that despite feeling very rough, dp and I talked for quite a while last night, and we’re planning a new strategy. Will (unsurprisingly) keep you all posted. The other thing we’re working on is a blogname for dd - votes in the comment box for Isadora please?

Is ‘Big’ no good then? What happens if you have a smaller than Small one day?!! I presume you mean a blogname to use on the blog instead of her real name …? Isadora’s as good as anything I could come up with! Glad you had a good day yesterday - in our experience birthday parties are always hard for the not-birthday-person, so I wouldn’t worry too much …

My dad always called every young girl Susan ….. or he once sent me a series of postcards (he used to send me a *lot* of postcards) about how he’d cloned me and called the clone Aurora, which I like.

    Isadora’s pretty … what about Eudora? ;-)

We’re all as fine as we were when we arrived iyswim? Roo and the kids were already bunged up anyway so I don’t think theirs came from you!

A was only as bad as Rowan - please feel free to share any strategies!!

In all - a good time was had by all of us - Thanks.

Kirsty - sorry we didn’t see you, Rowan was asking after Marcus again.

Isadora was my suggestion, with deference to Isadora Duncan of strangled-by-scarf-in-a-bugatti fame. Dd was wandering round with a long chiffon scarf this morning, which makes it even more appropriate. Merriment resulted every time she went through a door and closed it behind herself, leaving half the scarf trapped in the doorway.

I also suggested Garbo, but Jax has muddled her up with Dietrich (”I vont to be alone”), and doesn’t think that it is apt for someone who plays so consistently to the gallery.

Oh, yeah, I forgot. There is a very good Pooh precedent for “Smallest Of All”, who was the one of Rabbit’s Friends and Relations who got lost.

So I suspect that may be the given name of the next.

Mind you, we could with some validity rebrand the existing progeny as Eeyore and Tigger…..

Aww, sorry we missed you too. I’m just having a “my kids are awful and can’t be unleashed on society” phases. I just couldn’t face it, they are really being terrible :( Hopefully we can meet up again soon.

    Kirsty,
Why not get all our antisocial, horrid kids together in one of our gardens and the adults can sit and discuss how awful they really are?

    Just a thought,
    Sarah & Co

any time Alison - we’d love to have you. Although we’d either have to stack you, or put up the tent, or I suppose some of you could sleep in the camper… ;-)
